Ansab al-Ashraf ("Genealogies of the Nobles") is a classical Arabic work by the 9th-century historian Ahmad ibn Yahya al-Baladhuri (d. ca. 892 CE). It compiles genealogies, biographies, and anecdotes about prominent Arab tribes, notable families, and leading figures of early Islamic and pre-Islamic history. The work preserves many earlier sources that are otherwise lost.
