This paper examines the function of Anushka Sharma’s photographic images within the Indian entertainment industry and popular media landscape. Moving beyond traditional film publicity, Sharma’s images—ranging from candid paparazzi shots to curated social media posts and high-fashion editorials—operate as autonomous entertainment content. This study argues that these photographs serve three primary purposes: 1) the construction of a hybrid public identity (professional versus private), 2) the commodification of personal milestones for media circulation, and 3) the negotiation of gendered gazes in digital spaces. Using content analysis of media coverage from 2015–2025, this paper positions Sharma’s visual representation as a case study for understanding contemporary celebrity culture in post-liberalization India.
