The MIDV-709, also known as the M9 or M9A1, is a type of fragmentation hand grenade that was developed for military use. The primary purpose of the MIDV-709 (or its variants) is to provide suppressive fire through the detonation of a high-explosive anti-personnel warhead, dispersing lethal shrapnel over a wide area.
