The movie follows the journey of the Monkey King, also known as Sun Wukong, who is born from a stone and possesses supernatural powers. The King is joined by three other powerful beings: Zhu Bajie, a half-human, half-pig creature; Sha Wujing, a water buffalo demon; and Tang Sanzang, a Buddhist monk.
