The attacks began on November 26, 2008, at around 9:30 pm, when a group of 10 terrorists, who had arrived in Mumbai by boat, began to wreak havoc on the city. The terrorists, who were armed with AK-47 rifles, hand grenades, and other explosives, targeted several locations in Mumbai, including the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel, the Oberoi Trident Hotel, the Leopold Cafe, and the Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus (CST) railway station.
