The movie picks up where the first film left off, with Thomas (Dylan O'Brien) and the other Gladers being rescued by a group of rebels, led by Brenda (Kaya Scodelario) and Jorge (Giancarlo Esposito). However, things take a dark turn when Thomas and his friends are forced to participate in a series of challenges, known as the Scorch Trials, designed to test their survival skills in a post-apocalyptic world.
