Set during the Balkan conflict of the 1990s, the film follows Angel (Rosie Day), a deaf-mute young woman enslaved in a “seasoning house” – a place where captive women are drugged and broken before being sold into prostitution. Angel uses her wits and a hidden network of crawlspaces to fight back after a personal tragedy.
