This paper explores the unique localization phenomenon of "thuyết minh" (voice-over narration) in Vietnam through the case study of the animated film Big Hero 6 (2014). While global distribution often favors full dubbing (lồng tiếng), the "thuyết minh" version of Big Hero 6 remains a popular access point for Vietnamese audiences. By comparing the original English dialogue with the Vietnamese narration, this study analyzes how the translator’s voice mediates cultural nuances, humor, and emotional beats.
